The social media is definitely becoming more and more
prominent in not only the Canada, but also the United States. I wonder why
people tend to believe “people like me,” as you discussed in this post so much,
when there are professionals out there that are provably more reliable?

It's still more credible if the comment or advertisement comes from real people from real life. Most people in the internet tend to create their own persona, they're not all real.

Re: Why Ghost Blogging Is Wrong

I agree with this post. Blogging is a way for people to engage with their readers, not a way to deceive readers. Yes, there are arguments for ghost blogging that are logical. However, if one is unable to take the time to write a blog, then they should not have a blog in the first place.

Re: Trust in 2012: 4 Implications for Social Media

I think it's important for companies to realize what you said about traditional media not being dead yet. With all the hype over social media, it seems that companies have tunnel vision for non-traditional media. Building relationships is at the core of what makes businesses successful; so, instead of being separate entities, organizations should integrate and cross-reference their material with each media outlet they have.

Re: Dx3 Presentation: Blogger Relations – Getting the Insiders Onside

Thanks for sharing such an interesting information.

Re: My 2012 Reading Challenge: 36 Books

2/3's of the way through this book, i had high hopes, and not just cuz you wanted to read it. concept sounds amazing! but really, not good... if you haven't read game of thrones yet, read that first. (my 2 cents)

Re: Trust in 2012: 4 Implications for Social Media

nice work!

Re: Trust in 2012: 4 Implications for Social Media

I belive that every online interaction should be treated like a real relationship and cultivate it with care.

When you understand the value of a friendship
and its relationship, you don’t care about the amount of friends or followers you
have listed on your profile but who they are as they contribute to your
success.

Writing is one offshoot of creative thinking. Young PR folks will need to bring bold ideas to the table to breakthrough the deafening noise of this fragmented marketplace. Clients, managers, etc. are too busy to spoon feed them ideas and content. Be inspired or get fired young ones.

Re: Seven Social Media Insights on CES

I love this post!
While we generally defer any blogger outreach to our client's PR partner, sometimes we end up doing it. This was very helpful, and I've passed this along to my coworkers. I just finished up reading Caildini's "Influence" and am now reading "The Secret To Money Is Having Some" which is an interesting read as well. Looking forward to your review of "Brainwashed". You might want to check out Ariely's mentor, Nobel Laureate Daniel Kahneman's book "Thinking Fast and Slow" that I recently started. http://www.theglobeandmail.com... . It's a dense book that's more detailed than the average business book but you get all the nuances of how the human mind works. He's also one of the few people who synthesize vast amounts of data into great information that's digestible but not oversimplified.
